Ae Dil Hai Mushkil cast is getting glitzier by the minute. If Ranbir Singh, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma coming together in a Karan Johar film were not good enough already, there was Fawad Khan added into the mix. And now, Karan has dropped another bombshell that Shah Rukh Khan will be making a guest appearance in the film.
At the Toronto International Film Festival, Karan Johar confirmed the news. “Shah Rukh and I have an amazing working rapport. I haven’t directed a film with him in the last seven years, but he did a scene for me recently in a film that is going to release in Diwali and after seven years when I directed him, I realised nothing had changed. He knew exactly what I was expecting of him and I knew exactly what he was going to do,” he said at the event.
Now that SRK’s cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is confirmed, here is the bizz regarding the role he will probably be playing — that of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s husband. Aishwarya plays a poet in the film and sources say her husband is likely to die early in the film. This is the character SRK is likely to play.
What Ae Dil Hai Mushkil may not have is a cameo by Kajol, Karan’s good friend and lucky charm. Kajol is there in almost all of Karan’s films but this time, stakes are much higher. Ajay Devgn, Kajol’s husband, is also releasing his Shivaay on Diwali as well and both the films will go head-to-head.
Given that both films are high budget projects, the clash has already led to controversy. Ajay had recently alleged that Karan had paid Kamaal R Khan money to promote ADHM and slam his Shivaay. He also released a conversation in which KRK was heard saying he had received the money. KRK later backtracked and Karan refused to comment on the controversy.
"Shah Rukh and I have an amazing working rapport. There were reports earlier that Shah Rukh plays the husband of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's character, who dies about half-way through the film. There was a lot of speculation, whether Shah Rukh would be a part of the project, since he is always an integral part of Karan Johar's films barring his last film Student of the year, which featured a cameo by Kajol.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil exploded after the launch of the film's teaser featuring an intense Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and a bearded Fawad Khan. The film will clash with Ajay Devgn's Shivaay on Diwali, it will be interesting to see which one comes out on top!
