The resto bar staff stopped the LGBT community member from entering the premise and said that their management policy did not allow people with different sexual orientation in the bar.
A LGBT community member was denied entry in one of the famous resto bar in Andheri West. According to the victim this incident took place on Monday night when he along with his friend tried to enter the resto bar near Infinity Mall in Andheri West.
WHAT HAPPENED
"My two friends had already booked an table in TAP restaurant.
When I along with my other friend reached there, a staffer stopped me and allowed my friend to go in. Later she called the duty manager who told us that it's management policy not to allow LGBT member or people who have different sexual orientation," said the 28-year-old who was denied entry.
"Mumbai is a really open city where we usually never face negativity but yes there are elements in the society who don't like people like us. We must bring all such incidents to light and they should be investigated." Said Harish Iyer Mumbai based LGBT activist.
HOTEL DENIES INCIDENT
The resto bar owner Mr Krishna said ,"I don't think any such incident took place in our hotel... I will ask my staff about this incident as I am not aware of it. It looks like some misunderstanding must have happend. But we don't have any such policy where we deny entry to LGBT members."
