In a tweet, Singh said, “Happy to meet Nabel Ahmad Wani, a young man from Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir, who has topped the BSF entrance exams this year. The success story of Nabeel shows that youths in Jammu and Kashmir have lot of potentials and his success will inspire many young boys and girls in the state.”
Wani, who has joined the BSF as an assistant commandant, was accompanied by Director General of BSF K K Sharma when he met the Home Minister.
The Home Minister also introduced Wani to top officials, including NSA Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and others, who had come for a meeting with Singh during that time.
Wani is learnt to have said that he felt that unemployment was the biggest problem being faced by the youth. He said it could only be solved by education.
BSF sources said Wani has studied engineering from a Pathankot college and says that he always wanted to join defence forces. He is currently serving as a junior engineer in Udhampur.
“The more we get education the better and more jobs we will get. We cannot get education by taking to stones but by holding a pen,” Wani was quoted by news agencies as having said.
Earlier, in interviews given to media, Wani had said the Valley youth should follow their dreams and fulfil the aim of their lives by taking the right path. “I will urge you to take the right path, do something for your country and your motherland so that your country and motherland are recognised all over the world. You all should follow your dreams, but don’t take any wrong path for that. Taking a wrong path is easier, but it’s difficult to follow a right path. But, at the end, only those people are successful who take the right path,” Wani said.
Wani had said his aim was to do something against terrorism and felt that he could fulfil him aim by being either with the Army or the BSF. Wani’s father was a school teacher.source
