Rio Paralympics: Take a bow Devendra Jhajharia, says Virender Sehwag


Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former cricketer Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to heap praises on Devendra Jhajharia who broke his own world record to win gold in the men's javelin throw F46 event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid rich tributes to Devendra Jhajharia who clinched second Gold medal for India at the ongoing 2016 Rio Paralympics.

Jhajharia broke his own world record to win gold in the men's javelin throw F46 event, taking India's tally at this edition of the Paralympics to four medals -- two golds, one silver and a bronze.
Jhajharia won gold in the javelin event at the 2004 Athens Paralympics with a record throw of 62.15 metres, becoming only the second gold medallist at the Paralympics for his country, and improved upon it with an attempt of 63.97 metres at the Olympic Stadium Engenhao here on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old is currently ranked third in the world.
"Congratulations to Devendra Jhajharia for the historic and well-deserved Gold at the #Paralympics. We are very proud of him. #Rio2016," PM Modi tweeted.



India cricket legend Virender Sehwag too joined in on the microblogging site to praise Jhajharia.
